With technology failing to eliminate distractions and nurture cognitive order, reading and writing rates are now at single-digit figures, having a dramatic impact on GDP and Human Capital in a broader perspective and on individuals' ability to succeed in this information age. Visual stress appears to be the main syndrome which affects nearly 50% of the population, leading to subjectively unpleasant reading and writing experiences. This has necessitated the need for personalizing reading and writing experiences, calling for the development of a universal platform to tackle literacy challenges.
