EcoPhage, a biotechnology company, is utilizing a revolutionary technology that utilizes viruses that attack bacteria (bacteriophages) for crop protection. This unique method enables high-speed screening and cocktail optimization, allowing for the most efficient and effective phage-based products to be used in crop protection. Farmers have been looking for reliable and eco-friendly solutions to combat bacterial diseases in crops, which spurred the search for new approaches. Bacteriophages have been known for many years as natural enemies to bacteria; however, there has not been the right technology to accurately identify the best combination of phages to combat disease, obstructing their application in agriculture.
